I see where you are coming from, but you completley miss the point. It desire for the girl is just a side story and is a metaphor for how we sometimes live life on autopilot in the rat race and how one little thing can wake us up.He never did anything with her, and Sam Mendez directing and perfect execution of the film, stop Lester from looking like a pervert ,but a man dying from a jaded life whom people related to in some form or another.
